When you are the third most winningest manager in MLB (highest among active managers), have the respect from all other MLB managers. Managing against you is described similar to playing a game of chess against a grand master chesss player, then yo can have a little confidence.

I like LaRussa myself. In an era when coaches are both questioned for what they don't do and how much they actually do do, LaRussa is a prime example of a coach that does "do". He's a strategist. It can drive people crazy but Larussa will do whatever he possibly can in a game to help put his team and players in the best position to win. Cockiness and Arrogance are swaggers I want from my Manager/Coach to be honest

LaRussa is definitely a breed apart from other managers. Aside from being the best Manager in Baseball, he is a devout student of the game. How many other managers know their opponents roster as well as they know their own? Granted, he does come across as arrogant but I think that is a by product of his preparation and unrivaled expectation of winning. I for one love watching his in game strategy which sometimes defies logic and trying to guess what he is gonna do. I'm also rooting for the Rangers
