Pitt will begin the 2011-12 season ranked No. 11 in the USA Today/ESPN coaches' poll. North Carolina is No. 1 followed by Kentucky, Ohio State, Connecticut and Syracuse.
Three other Big East teams are in the top 25. Louisville is No. 8, Marquette No. 21 and Cincinnati No. 22.
The Associated Press poll debuts the first week of November.

I might watch a few games this year. I am not a big basketball fan but PITT pulls me in a bit. The playoff failures are annoying though. Maybe this will be the year they get over the hump.

Let's hope.... But hey, it's a major accomplishment to make it to the finals. Just because we haven't gotten there yet isn't a huge deal... Yea, I'd like to see them do better, but they better do it soon because once they get into ACC play they are gonna have some stiff competition as well.

Pitt now has some elite athletes this season. I'm betting they take it up another couple of notches this year can't wait to see Burch and Moore light it up.
Schemes shouldn't be employed to cover weaknesses, but to enhance team strengths.
