Delta will sponsor Major League Baseball in Japan

Delta has been named the official sponsor of Major League Baseball (MLB) in Japan through next December.

The sponsorship includes MLB logo placement in Delta’s marketing materials, including leaflets and posters, trade shows and exhibitions, as well as package tours to watch baseball games during the season.

“Delta is proud to serve as the official sponsor of Major League Baseball in Japan on top of our longtime partnerships with MLB teams in the U.S.,” said Jeff Bernier, managing director-Pacific sales and affairs. “Delta’s MLB partnerships symbolize our quest to connect the world by bringing a global audience together through baseball.”

“Delta has a long history of MLB Club partnerships in the U.S. and has more recently supported MLB’s efforts to grow the game of baseball in China,” said Jim Small, v.p.-Asia for MLB. “We are now delighted to extend the relationship to one of our most important markets – Japan.”

Delta sponsors more Major League Baseball teams than any other airline, serving as the official airline of the Atlanta Braves, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees, New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals.

Delta also serves as the charter carrier for the Braves, Boston Red Sox, Reds, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Mets, Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners, Cardinals, San Diego Padres, Twins and Washington Nationals. Delta was also named the official airline of MLB’s “Baseball Park” tour in China in 2011.
