Default There Goes Another ... Arron Asham Is Out With A Concussion Now

According to Josh Yohe via Twittyer, the "sick" symptoms that Asham had felt during the Tampa Bay Lightning were actually concussion symptoms.

What makes this worse is having to see more Joe Vitale

Guess he won't be pounding Rupp tonight!

I'd be surprised if Asham misses more than 2 weeks.

Joe Vitale can go take Mike Rupp...

Yeah, I'm not expecting Asham to miss much time either. While the others get extensive tests they'll probably give him some generic hand written questionaire that if he passes it,. he's good to go

Guys, I love your humor and optimism! But Ash had a concussion last year and recovery is tricky. Still, I didn't see a single hit in that fight with Barch that would translate into a concussion, except for the very first upper cut that Barch threw. On the other hand, the Pride of Portage La Prairie has given and taken a lot of hits and fought over 100 fights...Here's to his quick recovery!

What I've heard is bits and pieces. Perhaps the fight he had with Barch on the 13th caused his post concussion symptoms to return, so after 5 minutes of ice time for the game on the 15th, he "felt ill" and and called it a day. The Force had to be feeling pretty strange to quit the ice. I watched the Barch fight several times and most of his swings were just landing air. Barch got in only one upper cut and we've all seen The Force endure far more than that. Maybe the doctors are just being extra careful. Maybe its Middle Age. Ash has been in and out of fights since his January-March concussion of 2011 (never mind since being a teen with with the Red Deer Rebels), so one chin tap by Krys B. doesn't make sense. Maybe he just hates the holidays and the getting razzed by the zebra and blocking a slapshot with hi knee on New Year's Eve didn't help matters any. He was in fine form on January 11 against the Caps as he did have 4 shots on goal. (I was at the game.) It was just that Vokoun was totally in the zone and every puck looked like a volley ball and that's why he was a no goal for that game. God knows the docs take these things far more seriously than they did in the past. All I know is that its easier to get secrets out of the Pentagon than to get the health status of a hockey player! Here's to better news tomorrow!
