Re: Joe Paterno Passed Away Tonite
I recant what I just sent out:
Dan McGinn, The Paterno family spokesman made a statement at 8:57 PM that the reports of Paterno's death are completly not true..
I restate that I posted the first report from current start players postings on twitter. If this is someones choice of sending emails to the players as a joke they are sick

Re: Joe Paterno Passed Away Tonite
CBS just pulled the info too..It seems that being first to report information is more important than having correct information...I learned a great lesson tonite as this is a very sensitive subject for me....I thought having multiple sources directly involved with the team would be enough info to go with..
I guess not

Scott Paterno just re-emphasized on twitter "Dad is very much alive but in very serious condition, continue to ask for your prayers and privacy during this time"

It's very hard to talk about the role Paterno played in my life. Not directly mind you, but all that he's given me for 3+ decades. I know he hasn't passed as of this post, but u feel that sadly it's only a matter of time. Non-PSU fans, to no fault of their own, won't understand this, but JoePa is like the grandfather all of us PSU fans never had. He was revered through football, he was followed in life, and he'll be looked upon with caring eyes in death.

JoePa's first year at PSU as a QB coach got a transfer from California University of PA and turned him into OL. That was my gramps. I am kinda glad he passed before the **** hit the fan TBH.

I hate what he did to the Pitt-PU Rivalry, but what he did for College football is legendary and undeniable.

Winningest coach of all time, 2 national championships, 250+ players in the NFL, but all may be forgotten of what happened in the Sandusky case. What he DIDN'T do may be more remembered than what he DID do. But overall, great man with a great legacy. RIP, 1926-2012.

Re: Joe Paterno Passed Away Tonite
Peace be with you Joe Pa! What a life, what a career, and what a guy...
The scandal wont tarnish what he did in my book. He gave us Penn Staters many many decades of great football, and did a lot for the university to.
