    PlayForBlood

It's time for someone else, someone brand new to become part of history and get the awesome right to sport the "NFL Pick-Em's Championship" banner icon under their name !!

    Attachment 3958

    THE MATCHUP

    #6 Papillon @ #7 BLASTFURNACE58

    Papillon
    170-85
    @ BLASTFURNACE58
    170-86
75 Playoff Points 80 Playoff Points
    8-2 Playoffs 7-3 Playoffs

This is a Pick-Em's Playoffs first as we are pitting 2 opponents who have both been to seperate NFL Pick-Em's Super Bowls. One player won their matchup, another player lost theirs.

How is it going to turn out this time?
    ....

Despite all of the times that these 2 have been to the NFL Pick-Em's Playoffs, they have never met in an elimination round.

    Until Now! ...

Can Papillon get his Super Bowl revenge like the New England Patriots plan to do in Super Bowl XLVI? It was in NFL Pick-Em's Super Bowl I that Papillon lost to a participant who ended up advancing due to a technicality in the Wild Card round where the player that won was disqualified for not turning their picks in on time. It was that decision that lead to the Super Bowl I matchup where Papillon's season came to an end.

It's been a slow burn for Papillon ever since and like Steve McQueen, Papillon is ready to break out of the prison that's held him back from getting the Championship.

Papillon can feel the taste of victory. He can taste it and smell it in the air ....

He just has one thing to do first ...

    Defeat BLASTFURNACE58.

BLASTFURNACE58 is the NFL Pick-Em's Super Bowl II Champion from way back in 2007. Back in the day when Defesemen were allowed to hit you however hard they wanted without being fined or suspended, when video taping Defensive Coordinators signals was normal protocol for some team(s). Back in the day when a Wide Receiver was allowed to block Linebackers and Defensive Backs before the NFL Commissioner wrapped skirts around them like they're Quarterbacks and Kickers.

Now.... BLASTFURNACE58 is back .... and he wants his 2nd Championship. He wants the chance to proclaim himself the first and only TWO TIME CHAMPION. He's been there. He knows how to do it. He has experience. He was clutch in the end when he needed to be...

... and he will need to be clutch once again if he plans on defeating Papillon who is no stranger to the NFL Pick-Em's Super Bowl either.

This is going to be a classic matchup. One for the ages! We might be talking about this one for days, months... years .... There will be riots in the streets afterwards (especially if one of these 2 are from Vancouver), there's going to celebrations, confetti, champagne, tears of joy and then there's going to be sadness, regret, double guessing, pain and agony.

It's the NFL Pick-Em's Super Bowl VI !!!!

    Kip,

I lost last year also to Play for Blood, so I'll also be trying to avoid being the first 2 time loser in the contest.

I haven't received the pick-ems for the Super Bowl via PM. I thought I would put this here in case my PM to Kip didn't make it through for some reason (probably user error).

Holy crap our Super Bowl was as close as the real thing, it came down to choosing Welker or Cruz to have the most yards. Our picks were identical until the final three and BlastFurnace hit two out of three. Congrats BlastFurnace! Before I logged on to see what the out come was I thought I had won with 34 points, 38 points is un-freaking-believable out 52 (I see VTSteeler had 38 as well, congrats).

I'm the Buffalo Bills of the PittsburghSporetstavern pickems contest, I'm 0-2 and looking forward to next year.

    congrats again Blast, well done.

Schemes shouldn't be employed to cover weaknesses, but to enhance team strengths.
