Pitts vs Providence

I am still disappointed in the last 8 games .... Even as a fan ... I do not think they have what it takes to go to the dance ... Not this year

It's hard not to be disappointed if you're a Pitt fan. This has been a rough year so far.

We've been pretty spoiled during the Howland-Dixon era with some great basketball though. Yeah, we haven't won a national championships, or even been to a final four, but overall in that time span, we've been the best basketball team in the best basketball conference in the country record wise. We've won some Big East titles, been number one in the country a few times, and have been number one seeds in the tourney a few times.

Sooner or later, even the top programs have a down year. This is Pitt's down year. With his past success, I'm willing to give Jamie the benefit of the doubt that he can bring this team back to where it was before this year. Hang in there man. It's been rough on all of us Pitt fans lately.

Nice win for Pitt tonight. Having Tray back healthy, and playing the 1, seems to make a big difference. Tray is a true point guard, not Ashton. Ashton is now back at the position he excels at, playing the 2. It's only one game, but maybe this team can at least finish the season strong. It's a start anyway.

... If you thought there was a chance, you are mistaken...

They won't even make the Big East tourney (IIRC, the bottom 4 don't go) or even the NIT this season... Right now their RPI is 105 (160 w/i conf)...

They'll make the Big East Tourney because everybody makes the Big East tourney now. Even the bottom team. They'll just have to win 5 days in a row to win the tourney. Can you imagine that happening?
