We have no idea what they would've prescribed. They are different types of injuries so i would assume that both would be treated differently or are treated differently. What if this was an injury that was caused originally back in January of 2011 and as they are treating a concussion an issue that to be honest none of these doctors know how to prescribe fully in order to get someone to "heal 100%" like the attempt was with Sid, they found out it was mroe of a spinal injury? A spinal injury that they're more familiar with as far as long term prognosis and everything else. Perhaps Sid is fully recovered by now.

Remember while Sid was "healing" from the concussion they really had no idea what was causing his issues in the first place so they couldn't really treat him with anything else but "rest" and "test". If it were a spinal injury they could definitely do more because they no more sicne the issue is much more pinpointed.

Brady endorses physical therapist he recommended to Crosby
    By Dejan Kovacevic, PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW
    Tuesday, January 31, 2012

INDIANAPOLIS — New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady highly endorses the Utah-based physical therapist that he recommended to his friend, Penguins star Sidney Crosby.

Crosby, recently diagnosed with a neck injury in addition to concussion symptoms, visited Alex Guerrero in Utah while seeking additional medical advice for his injury.

"I trust him," Brady told the Tribune-Review today at Super Bowl Media Day. "I know I wouldn't be here today without him."

Guerrero helped Brady recover from knee surgery three years ago.

When asked how he hooked up Crosby with Guerrero, Brady replied that it happened through a "mutual friend."

Crosby was diagnosed with the neck injury when visiting a neurological spine specialist in Los Angeles. The team said the injury is fully healed.

Crosby resumed skating Monday. He hasn't played since Dec. 5.
