Love This Mock for the Steelers..
This is the third mock I've read where the author has the Steelers drafting OG "Rokevious Watkins." I want him, besides the fact that he is 6'4" 320.
While the above is true, this mock has Pittsbrugh drafting NT Dontari Poe in Round1 and ILB Donta Hightower in Round 2.
If that ever happened, Colbert should stop right there and start takign bows..

Re: Love This Mock for the Steelers..
Why? So we can play prevent in the 4th quarter again?
It's an offensive league now. Start investing in the offense.

Re: Love This Mock for the Steelers..
NT is the biggest area of concern/need on the Defense. I'd say CB but with Hampton's age and injuries and mcclendon is a mere backup type, an NT for a 3/4 Defense is a big need. ILB to replace Farrior would be nice. I'd still like to see them draft another Tackle in the top 2

You need it on both sides of the ball. Ask the Saints and Packers. I agree in general it's an offensive league, it's a passing league. Throw the ball. The days of dominant defenses controlling games (against good teams) are a thing of the past especially in Rog's flag football league, but you also can't trot out garbage Defenses either. Lots of places to fill holes on both sides of the ball but I agree on needing an NT on defense and some more help on the OL.

Re: Love This Mock for the Steelers..
The pro and con arguments of O vs D occur every year. But, in the end, it is what it is (or will be).
There are two or three OL who should be available when the Steelers draft in 1--OT Mike Adams, OG Cordy Glenn, OG Brandon Washington--and I'm willing to back Colbert's D/O decisions. He knows more than I do.
However, with my limited my knowledge to draftee write ups and my sense of the Steeler's talent gaps, Poe would be the only NT I'd take in Rd1--at #24--and Hightower and Burfect (supposedly a head case, who the Ravens likely will grab if he's available) the only ILBs.
If history is any guide, who do you think most helped the Steelers--when they played--Jack Lambert, Levon Kirkland, Casey Hampton and/or Joel Steed?
In Poe, Hightower, and Burfect, I think they offer the kinds of skills these players displayed, in their prime.Last edited by DCBILL; Feb-02-2012 at 06:36 PM.
