The Penguins have signed forward Joe Vitale to a two-year, $1.1 million contract extension.
Vitale, 26, leads the Penguins with a 55.9 percent success rate on faceoffs and is fourth among forwards with 24 blocked shots. He also is a key member of the team's penalty-kill unit that is fourth in the NHL at 87.4 percent. He has scored three goals and seven assists this season.

I can think of plenty of other reasons to spend $1.1 million ...
I had no idea that Vitale was elading the team in FO%. Park is at about 53.5%... that said, a guy that plays on the PK and isn't reliable to taker faceoffs because he's 6 of 16, isn't a "faceoff" guy I'd brag about. Winning draws in your zone is far mroe than those ES draws
