Perotto to become editor in chief at Baseball Prospectus

Another semi-related note, it looks like PiratesReport.com hired some dude named Paul Ladewski from Chicago to write for the site, [HIGH-LIGHT]so I guess there was more to Perrotto's dismissal than just outsourcing their writing to the wire service.[/HIGH-LIGHT] I haven't seen much of his writing, but I can already tell I dislike the guy based on his Wikipedia entry. The only section in it is "Hall of Fame Voting Controversy" as apparently he's one of those guys who turns in blank ballots because he won't vote for anyone from the "Steroid Era" and also a guy who won't vote for anyone on the first ballot. Basically everything I hate about Hall of Fame Voters.

I saw that about Ladewski as well. My question is "what the hell is the Pirates Report"? I had NEVER heard of it until Perotto moved there and that wasn't until very recently. Before then Perrotto wrote for the Beaver County Times for a good while and he was let go there because of that paper completely downsizing and letting go of work force.

Ladewski is someone I won't even probably read, which is fine. We have DK for reporting information, news as soon as it happens and if we want to read more in depth things on player evaluations, projections, minor leagues, number crunching etc... things that are outside of DK's knowledge base, there's a bunch of really good Blogs out there that do that. For a team that doesn't win many games and has sucked for this long, the Pirates have a pretty solid knowledge base of fans (which is needed to offset the morons that fill up the comments sections of the PBC and Smizik's "blogs" at the PG.
