Today's Steelers Signings and the April Draft
Five signees, including additions at WR (El and Battle), OL (Scott), and
and Safety (Allen), plus getting Clark back.
If they sign Foote, that might add another veteran where we have need.
Those developments don't rule out taking a Weatherspoon (ILB) or and Earl Thomas (S/CB) at #18, but I hope they add to the possibility that the Steelers draft a stud OL at #18, like Iupati or Bruce Campbell.
The quality/strength is in the first round and I am not sure you can get the quality we need if they wait until Round 2 to draft a OT/OG

Re: Today's Steelers Signings and the April Draft
Get the first round OG out of your mind man...unless we trade down...just poor value.
2nd...unless they sign Foote, and even then its not clear, I think that what the Steelers are left with is CB (maybe another S but mostly just a CB), DL, and ILB as the three areas of need.
I think this SHOULD put them in position to go up and get McClain if they want...then a good mid-round DT and CB should do it.
We will have improved play, hopefully, from our younger CBs drafted last year...we should have TP back...we have OG depth with Foster and Urbik...we'll now have good/decent OT depth...we also have good WR and S depth now (in terms of quality)...we could go after RB...

I like Iupati because I think he can play both OT and OG.
If he were available at #18, I'd have them take Bruce Campbell, who I think--right now--could outperform Willie Colon.

I don't think it's changed much of anything other than there will be no safety at #18. Not sure there would have been anyway.
