NFL Pick-em's Contest - Week 1

Welcome to the NFL 2010-2011 Pick-em Contest.

Over the next 17 weeks, the NFL will conduct it's regular season, and all posters on this board are welcome to participate in this NFL pick-em contest being ran right here at the Pittsburgh Sports Tavern. Every week, I, your humble tallyer, fo$lrock will post the current NFL weekly schedule and you will have the opportunity to place your picks for every NFL game throughout the season. I will in turn, keep tally of all posters picks, and place the results after the final game for the week is completed after Monday night.

For those of you that are new to this, here is a brief set of the rules for this season.

- When the schedule is posted, please copy the schedule (ctrl + c for windows, the open apple command + c for mac users) then simply paste (ctrl + v for windows, open apple + V for macers) it into a new post. Next, delete the team you think will lose along with the "at". So, please only provide me with a list of the teams cities that you think will win in the exact order of the schedule that is posted (an example will follow in the next post from me). Please, don't provide me with a lengthy reason to why you are placing the picks. After your picks are listed, you can type a paragraph or more, if you wish. The reason for this is that it makes it much easier for me to tally the countless amount of picks that can be in play on any given week. So, when posters write a lot of crap with their picks, it frustrates me, and gives me the fits, since i'd rather zoom through the process and move on to more fruitful adventures.

- Please get your picks in by the beginning of the 1:00 EST kickoff time by every Sunday. After the first kickoff on Sunday, the contest will close for the week. NO IFS, ANDS, OR BUTS! I will not count late comers for that week, and all games will be considered a loss. In the cases of the Thursday, and Saturday games, if you forget to place your picks for those games, those games will not count, but the other games during the week will count, as long as you get your picks in by Sunday at 1:00 EST.

- If you miss a week, you receive a strike. If you miss 3 weeks, you are out of the contest.

- Every week after the last Monday night game, I will post the standings for the week, as well as the season standings.

Securing a spot for the Pick-em playoffs.

At the start of week 12, I will start posting the current standings for the playoff seeds. In this contest, the top 16 posters will make the playoffs, and they will vie for the Pick-em contest Super Bowl to be crowned the one and only champion of the contest. Currently, the reigning champion of last seasons contest is NKySteeler.

After the completion of the regular season, the top 16 posters will be seeded accordingly, and then each poster will face off against another opponent in the playoffs. The playoffs differ a bit, from the regular season, in that the picks come in the form of weighted questions for each playoff game. So, each seed will have to pick the winner of a playoff game,questions related to individual players, as well as one yes/no question for each game. The winner of each match is determined by the accumulative score for all games that week. The winner moves on to the next round, while the loser of the match is sent packing, until only one poster remains. .

More on the playoffs will be posted as the season progresses.

Once again, in order to make the process of tallying and collecting these picks as easy as possible, if you can please copy and paste the schedule below into a new post, and then provide me with JUST a list of the names of the teams cities that you think are going to win in the exact order of the schedule below, and get them in by the 1:00 EST kickoff time by Sunday the 9th..
